My Reflection on meeting this outcome
Artifact 1 – Home work week 5: With the attached assignment I was able to show that I understood what all it takes to get the process started and implementing a new accounting system. There are many things that a company must consider before they decide on a new accounting system. They need to look at many things. They first want to start out with a brainstorming session to figure out what the goal of the new system will be then they will need to start the process of either making their own system or finding a system that best fits the needs and goals of the company. I have also learned that it is important to make sure you have input from the individuals who will be using the system. I have worked for a company in the past that did not listen to their employees and when the new system was put into place it did nothing to make anyone’s jobs easier in fact it made them worse because they were having to do the work two times once in the old system and once in the new system. They continued to do it in the old system because that system was reliable and was able to produce what the employees needed it to produce. If the companies do not listen to their employees it could end up costing them a lot of money in the long run because they might have to scrap the new system and just go back to the old system. If this happens then money was wasted because now they have a new system that they are not able to use and it is going to take them even longer to figure out how to get the new system to work and do what they need it to do.

My Future Learning Goals related to this outcome
Now that I have learned this information I will be able to apply it to any job I may have in the future. I have learned that for any company it is very important to make sure that you listen to your employees when you are looking and putting in a new system. This is important because the employees may know something that the upper management does not know. They know what their job needs to make sure they can do their job on a daily basis. When management is the only one making the decisions on the new accounting system it could end up costing the company a lot of money and wasted time. I have also learned that it is very important to make sure you take the process seriously and take time in figuring out what system will work best for you.
I will be able to use this information should I ever be involved with the implementation for a new accounting system. I will be able to take the knowledge I have from this class and give my honest opinion. I will also be able to share my knowledge with my fellow co-workers and management. Some of them may have been out of school for a while so a fresh college mind could be a huge benefit.
